Tickets for today’s World Cup qualifier match between Nigeria Super Eagles and Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo now sells for N2000 and N3000 due to high demand. This is against the government approved N500 and N1000.
Speaking in Uyo yesterday, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mr. Nse Edem stated that given the importance of the match and the high expectations of Nigerians, there is no doubt that the stadium may be filled to capacity.
He however warned against any sharp practice by those in charge of the tickets as anybody caught will be prosecuted.
Edem who is also Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee for the big game assured that the Akwa Ibom state government is working in harmony with the Nigeria Football Federation to deliver a hitch free game tomorrow.
