Emmanuel Macron Elected As President of France

The En Marche! party candidate in the 2017 French Presidential elections has claimed victory after garnering around 62 percent of the exit polls to defeat his closest opponent, Marie Le Pen.

The centrist candidate and former Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs propagated moderate views throughout his campaign while promising to open doors to immigrants despite the numerous bombing incidents that were unleashed on the French capital in the last one year.

Mr Macron unlike Le Pen promised to stay in the EU and ensure a vibrant and resurgent French economy.

President Donald Trump of the United States has congratulated Mr Macron on his hard fought victory and promised to work with him and especially on the transatlantic ties despite Macron’s criticism of President Trump’s plan to build a border wall between the United States and Mexico.
